FnF.FM runs in your web browser, so there is no app to download and no account to set up. That makes it easy to listen to online radio on any device with a modern browser and an internet connection, whether you want our English, Bangla or Hindi station. This guide covers the devices people use most and a few simple tips to get the best out of each one.
How to listen to online radio on any device: the basics
- Open your browser and go to fnf.fm.
- Press play on the Listen screen. You will see the song playing now, with cover art when it is available, or an animated music visual that moves with the music when it is not.
- To change language, go to the Stations page and pick English, Bangla or Hindi.
That is all you need. Everything else is about making it more comfortable.
Listening on your phone
Your phone is probably the device you carry everywhere, which makes it the easiest way to keep FnF.FM with you.
- Bookmark the site. It saves you typing the address each time.
- Use headphones or earbuds on the move. They sound better than a phone speaker and are kinder to the people around you.
- Keep the tab open. Some phones and browsers may pause audio when you switch apps or lock the screen, often to save battery. If the music stops, return to the FnF.FM tab and press play again.
Listening on a tablet
A tablet makes a nice listening screen at home. Prop it up in the kitchen or on a desk and you can see the song playing now at a glance. If you sent a request, the bigger screen also makes it easy to keep FnF.FM open so that Alert me when it plays can let you know when your song comes on. Our guide on how to request a song on the radio explains how requests work.
Listening on a laptop or desktop
FnF.FM works well in a browser tab while you work. A few tips:
- Keep FnF.FM in its own tab so you can find it quickly.
- Use proper speakers or headphones. Even inexpensive external speakers usually sound far better than the small ones built into a laptop.
- Check the Recently played screen if a song catches your ear while you are busy. It shows what each station played recently, and our guide to finding a song you heard on the radio has more tips.
Play online radio on a TV or speaker
On supported browsers, the Listen screen shows a Play on a speaker or TV button. If you see it, you can use it to send the stream to a compatible speaker or television nearby. Whether the button appears depends on your browser and the devices around you.
If you do not see the button, there are other simple ways to get FnF.FM onto a bigger sound system:
- Bluetooth: pair your phone, tablet or laptop with a Bluetooth speaker, then play FnF.FM as usual.
- A cable: connect your device to a speaker or stereo with an audio cable, if both have the right sockets.
- A browser on the TV: some smart TVs have their own web browser. If yours does, you can try opening fnf.fm there.
Choosing a browser
FnF.FM is built for modern web browsers. For the smoothest experience:
- Use an up-to-date version of a widely used browser.
- Install browser updates when they are offered. They often fix problems with audio and media playback.
- If something does not work, try reloading the page, or try a different browser to see if the problem is specific to one.
How much data does online radio use?
Listening to live radio uses data for as long as the stream plays. The exact amount depends on the quality of the stream. As a rough general guide, an audio stream at 128 kbps uses around 55 to 60 MB an hour, and higher-quality streams use more.
If you are on a limited mobile plan:
- Connect to Wi-Fi when you can, especially for long listening sessions.
- Check your phone's data usage settings to see how much your browser is using.
- Remember to stop playback when you are finished, so it does not keep streaming in the background.
Getting good sound
- A steady connection matters. If the stream stutters, move closer to your Wi-Fi router or switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
- Headphones reveal detail that small speakers miss, especially in vocals and acoustic instruments.
- Keep the volume at a comfortable level, particularly with headphones and during long sessions.
